Both on the water waiting for the start and in line waiting for your turn on the dock.  Theses lines can become very congested.  Always be alert to other moving shells so that they do not damage your shell.

When waiting to launch from the dock, go down to waist.  This will make your crew more comfortable, especially when rowing an eight.

If you're going to be waiting for a long time, have tee’s brought from your camp.  There’s no need to make the crew tense by having to hold a shell for an extended amount of time.  Keep aware of the surroundings.  Watch for other crews walking a shell who may not have seen yours.
